This flat cross-body bag is completed in two sessions. Weave the bag using the clasp-weft technique in Session 1. Clasped weft weaving is a tapestry technique that produces diagonal lines in the woven fabric. Sew the bag, add a twisted cord handle and tassels in Session 2.
Completion of Introduction to Weaving at ABYC or equivalent is recommended.
You should be able to independently warp a rigid heddle loom.
Materials and Equipment: Loom with 12" weaving width minimum, 12-dent reed, 1 shuttle. Yarn is two colors of Venne 8/2 Cotton, approximately 150 yards, as warp. Weft yarn is Berroco Sesame or Filature di Crosa Tempo, approximately 360 yards.
