CH51: Practically Perfect Pillow



Clasped weft weaving is a tapestry technique that produces diagonal lines in the woven fabric. Use this as a design element to create this envelope style pillow cover.

Completion of Introduction to Weaving at ABYC or equivalent is recommended. 
You should be able to independently warp a rigid heddle loom. 


Materials and Equipment: Loom with 15" weaving width minimum, 10-dent reed, 1 shuttle. Warp yarn is 8/2 organic cotton in two colors, approximately 160 yards each. Weft yarn is Noro Silk Garden Sock, approximately 660 yards.

***Yarn for the class must be purchased at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company before the first day of class.
Yarn must be wound, if necessary, before the first day of class.***

Please bring your loom, stand, all accessories and these supplies, to all weaving classes: warping peg, heddle hook, brown paper to fit the width of back beam, waste yarn, cardboard roll to fit front beam, scissors, tapestry needle, pencil, paper for note-taking.

Carla has been sewing, knitting, and weaving along with other fiber arts for over 50 years and is fascinated by all aspects of each. She has been teaching rigid heddle weaving at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company for the last ten years and she's still having fun.
