AW25: Color Block Pillow
Learn how to weave a tube on a rigid heddle loom using two reeds. Tubes can be used to make bags, garments, or pillows! In this class, we'll explore warping a double weave project in multiple colors and weaving with more than one shuttle.
Completion of Intro to Weaving at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company or equivalent is recommended.
You should be able to independently warp a rigid heddle loom.
Come into the shop to choose which pillow you want to make.
Materials and Equipment Required for Bud Pillow (Gray, yellow, pink, and white sample):
Rigid heddle loom with 15" minimum weaving width and double heddle capability
Two 5-dent reeds
4 shuttles
2 pick-up sticks
4 skeins of Bud in 4 different colors, 325 yards used
Materials and Equipment Required for Remix Pillow (Blue, brown, and white sample):
Rigid heddle loom with 15" minimum weaving width and double heddle capability
Two 8-dent reeds
2 shuttles
2 pick-up sticks
3 balls of Berroco Remix Worsted in 3 colors
1 ball of Berroco Remix Light in a complimentary color
Yarn for the class must be purchased at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company before the first day of class. Yarn in skeins must be wound before the first day of class.
Please Note: If necessary, class and workshop fees can be transferred to another class or credited to your account up to two weeks before the start of the class.

Please bring your loom, stand, and these supplies to all weaving classes: warping peg, heddle hook, brown paper to fit the width of the back beam, waste yarn, cardboard roll to fit front beam, scissors, tapestry needle, pencil, and paper for note-taking.

Amanda has been creating with fiber for twenty years. She became a self-taught crocheter in 2003 and picked up the love of weaving and knitting over the last several years through classes at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company. Amanda has taught rigid heddle weaving since 2019.
