AA21: Beginning Knitting



This is a class for new knitters or those picking it back up. In this class, you will learn to cast on, knit, purl and cast off. In the last session, you will start a simple 'first' project - choose from a scarf, dishcloth or hat. 

Materials and Equipment: 
Yarn: Any worsted weight yarn - a solid, light color is preferable - 200 yards or more
Recommended Yarns: Malabrigo Rios or Alegria Grande
Needles: US #8 24-inch circulars
Notions: tapestry needle, scissors
Pencil and paper for note-taking

***Yarn for the class must be purchased at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company before the first day of class. Yarn in skeins must be wound before the first day of class.

Please Note: If necessary, class and workshop fees can be transferred to another class or credited to your account up to two weeks before the start of the class. We cannot credit accounts or transfer after that.

Abby has been knitting for over 20 years, and has worked as a sample knitter. She grew up in Canada, where she worked in film & theater before moving to California in 2003. Her favorite projects always involve learning something new!
