Aurora Cowl

The Aurora Cowl is a lovely two-color accessory knit with alternating stripes and stranded colorwork. This project is a great way to learn techniques in color changing without a jog, simple stranded colorwork using a chart with a four-round color repeat, and how to seam the cast on and bind off edges together. Since it is knit in the round, the back side will not show when seamed together. Win!
Materials and Equipment:
Yarn: Model is done with 2 colors of Ecopuno (Lana Grossa) that have great value contrast to each other. The pattern calls for 500 yards of yarn, but that is to be split for the two colors. This cowl would be lovely knit with two fingering weight yarns held together for each color, especially if one strand is a silk/mohair!
Needles: US 7/4.5mm in 24” circular (or shorter)
Notions: 10 stitch markers, tapestry needle, pencil
Purchase pattern “Aurora Cowl” from Ravelry.com. Print out pattern before the first day of class

I am also asking that you bring worsted weight yarn and size 8 or 9 needles (circular) so that we can practice the techniques before using your project yarn.
***Yarn for the class must be purchased at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company before the first day of class.
***Yarn in skeins must be wound before the first day of class.
Please Note: If necessary, class and workshop fees can be transferred to another class or credited to your account up to two weeks before the start of the class. We cannot credit accounts or transfer after that.
