SDC432: Your First Hat and how to use Double Pointed Knitting Needles



This easy hat will show you the basic hat construction created by knitting in the round and finishing with double pointed knitting needles (DPNs). Most hats are started on a circular 16" needle, then as the decreases become to tight you then transfer your stitches to DPNs to finish up the top. 
using DPNs is a wonderful skill that translates to any small circular knitting such as sleeves and socks.
This is a 3 part class, please plan on attending all 3 classes for best results.

Prerequisite: Must be able to knit and purl in the same row independently.

Note: Class and workshop fees can be credited to your account or transferable up to two weeks before the start of the class. We cannot credit accounts or transfer after that window.

Class size is limited and masks may be required, please bring one.

Materials: 150 - 220yds of worsted weight yarn (there are two styles available, a regular beanie or a slouch. The slouch will need the larger amount of yardage)
#7, 16" circular needle, stitch marker, tapestry needle for weaving in ends and optional pom pom.
