BM001: Kid's Cable-Up Sweater



This baby or child sweater is a great way to learn how to knit a pieced garment. The little cable detail adds to it's sweetness and you can learn how to make a cable with or without a cable needle and read a cable chart. 

This is a 3 part class, please plan on attending all 3 classes for best results.

Prerequisite: Must be able to knit and purl in the same row, increase/decrease and read a pattern independently.

Materials:
Yarn: Model is in Lang Cashmerino, 4 balls. You will need more if you are making a larger size. Approx 300 - 600 yards light DK or DK yarn.
Needles: US Size 2 & 3 24"
Please bring the following supplies: a pencil, two colored highlighters, tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers, stitch holders, and tape measure. 
Pattern is given in class.

Homework:
Knit a swatch in stockinette stitch to get the following gauge: 25 stitches and 34 rows = 4".

Must be able to read a knitting pattern, knit, purl, increase and decrease without assistance.

Instructor Bio:
Becky is a retired teacher and principal from Northern California and recently moved with her husband to Long Beach. Becky learned to knit and do a variety of needle crafts as a young girl. She re-learned how to knit when pregnant by knitting an Aran sweater while she was living in Scotland.
Becky enjoys knitting for gifts, learning new techniques and sharing her skills with others.
