CH01: Introduction to Weaving

In this one-day workshop you’ll learn about weaving tools, vocabulary, technique, and yarn selection while preparing a Cricket rigid heddle loom to weave a beautiful scarf. This loom is the equivalent of a 2-harness loom, allowing you to weave such items as table runners, placemats, purses, bags and more. The skills and techniques you learn using a rigid heddle loom also transfer to other types of looms, including table and floor looms. This is a great introduction to see if weaving is for you.

Materials needed: Approximately 375 yards of worsted weight yarn. See models in shop for yarn and color choices. Please bring scissors, paper and pencil to take notes.

Yarn for the class must be purchased at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company before the first day of class.
