CH22: Your Dish's New Best Friend!



Does having a favorite dishtowel seem odd to you? Just wait until you use a handwoven dishtowel.  You’ll choose from one of three designs and weave two cotton towels. 

Completion of Introduction to Weaving at ABYC or equivalent is recommended. 
You should be able to independently warp a rigid heddle loom. 

Materials and Equipment: Loom with 20" weaving width minimum, 12-dent reed, 1-3 shuttles, 1 pick-up stick, 24" minimum. Yarn is Venne 8/2 Organic Cotton in 3-5 colors, approximately 1560 yards total. See models for yardages of individual colors.

***Yarn for the class must be purchased at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company before the first day of class.
Yarn must be wound, if necessary, before the first day of class.***

Please Note: If necessary, class and workshop fees can be transferred to another class or credited to your account up to two weeks before the start of the class.

Weave with stripes, plaid, 3/2 Huck lace or color-and-weave pattern

Requirements:
Please bring your loom, stand, all accessories and these supplies, to all weaving classes: warping peg, heddle hook, brown paper to fit the width of back beam, waste yarn, cardboard roll to fit front beam, scissors, tapestry needle, pencil, paper for note-taking.

Carla has been sewing, knitting, and weaving along with other fiber arts for over 50 years and is fascinated by all aspects of each. She has been teaching rigid heddle weaving at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company for the last twelve years and she's still having fun.
