AW20: Elm Slouch Hat - Tunisian Crochet



That's right, this beanie is not knit! It's actually a combination of crochet and Tunisian crochet. Join us in this 3 session class to learn how to make one for yourself or your favorite family member! 

This is a 3 part class, each session is 2 hours long. Please try to attend all 3 sessions for best results.

Materials and Equipment:
Pattern: Purchase The Tunisian Crochet Handbook by Toni Lipsey, available at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company.
Yarn: 170 yards total of a worsted weight yarn in two colors.
The model was made with 2 skeins of Remix by Berroco in two colors.

Hooks:
Size US J/10 (6 mm) Tunisian crochet hook with a 16" cable 
Size US 7 (4.5 mm) or G (4.00 mm) regular crochet hook 

Notions: 
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker


Prerequisites: Basic crochet skills are recommended. 

Homework: Before the day of first class have your yarn purchased from Alamitos Bay Yarn Company and supplies, yarn wound, if needed. 

Note: Class and workshop fees can be credited to your account or transferable up to two weeks before the start of the class. We cannot credit accounts or transfer after that.

Amanda has been creating with fiber for almost twenty years. She became a self-taught crocheter in 2003 and picked up the love of weaving and knitting over the last several years through classes at Alamitos Bay Yarn Company. Amanda has taught rigid heddle weaving with Carla since 2019.
